Founded in 2014 and headquartered in the Pacific Northwest, Sedron Technologies designs, manufactures, installs, and operates advanced water and waste upcycling technologies. With a focus on transforming the paradigm from waste processing to resource recovery, Sedron Technologies works with municipal, agricultural, and industrial customers to process their "waste" into climate-smart commodities through environmentally and financially sustainable methods.   
 
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with over 10 years of experience to lead the design, development, and integration of advanced industrial equipment. This role will focus on custom mechanical systems, including heat exchangers, pressure vessels, material conveyance systems, pumping systems, and structural weldments. The ideal candidate will oversee mechanical engineering projects from concept through manufacturing and commissioning, providing strategic leadership and technical expertise to develop innovative, high-performance industrial solutions. 
 
We are looking for individuals who can meet the following essential functions of the position:    
  • Direct and/or participate in the design of custom industrial equipment, including 3D CAD modeling, drafting, engineering reviews, work order preparation, and procurement.
  •  Lead the development of industrial equipment such as heat exchangers, pressure vessels, material conveyance systems (drag chains, augers), pumping systems, motors and gearboxes, structural weldments, and more.
  • Perform critical engineering calculations, including 1D heat transfer, mass and energy balance, stress analysis, and pressure drop in piping systems.
  • Quickly learn new skills and take full ownership of assigned tasks, ensuring timely and high-quality execution.
  • Serve as a key liaison between customers and internal technical teams, driving progress through all stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Actively participate in design, manufacturing, assembly, and commissioning support activities.
  • Oversee material organization and readiness for manufacturing, including conducting purchasing activities.
  • Serve as a mentor and technical advisor to junior engineers, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate across disciplines, effectively communicating with technicians, engineers, and stakeholders. 
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and efficiency practices, including adherence to 5S and HazMat standards. 
  • Solve complex technical challenges with creativity and innovation, delivering solutions on time and within budget. 
  • Demonstrate effective prioritization of duties and responsibilities to meet objectives. 
  • Work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, fostering communication and collaboration with technicians and engineers. 
  • Adhere to safety protocols, including 5S and HazMat practices. 
  • Exhibit resilience under pressure, successfully managing multiple deadlines. 
  • Maintain strong organizational skills and demonstrate enthusiasm for solving challenging and exciting tasks. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE  
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required
  • 10+ years of industry experience in designing, developing, and commissioning industrial equipment
  • Proficiency in NX or equivalent CAD software for 3D modeling and drafting 
  • Advanced understanding of steam tables, pump and fan curves, enthalpy changes in fluids, and fundamental materials and manufacturing principles
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proven ability to lead projects from concept through completion, balancing technical and operational priorities
  • Experience mentoring and leading technical teams 
  • Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language 
 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION  
  • Compensation range for this role is between $120,000 - $160,000 annually  
  • Discretionary bonus  
  • The range provided is Sedron’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.
