Sedron Technologies is hiring a talented Automation Engineering Lead

Founded in 2014 and headquartered in the Pacific Northwest, Sedron Technologies designs, manufactures, installs, and operates advanced water and waste upcycling technologies. With a focus on transforming the paradigm from waste processing to resource recovery, Sedron Technologies works with municipal, agricultural, and industrial customers to process their "waste" into climate-smart commodities through environmentally and financially sustainable methods.   

Because we design, build, commission, and operate our technologies, we are looking for individuals who can meet the following essential functions of the position:  

  • Work closely with manufacturing engineering team to stabilize and improve existing automated systems as well as to implement and integrate future automation projects.
  • Lead complex scopes of work including specification of critical components, communication protocols, and programming architecture.
  • Plan and implement engineering process controls to ensure high degree of safety and reliability.
  • Lead documentation of controls architecture of new and existing systems
  • Participate in the design, implementation, and optimization of automation systems within a manufacturing setting
  • Lead and manage scopes of work related to robotic welding, ensuring projects are completed on time and to specification
  • Collaborate with technical trades to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to automation and welding processes
  • Develop and maintain documentation for automation systems, including wiring diagrams, software configurations, and operational procedures
  • Conduct testing and validation of automated systems to ensure performance and safety standards are met
  • Continuously evaluate and improve manufacturing processes for increased efficiency, quality, and safety
  • Provide technical support and training to production teams on automation systems and robotic welding procedures
  • Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors 
  • Be responsible for ensuring materials are organized and ready for manufacturing, including carrying out purchasing activities
  • Prioritize duties and responsibilities in order to fulfill objectives
  • Demonstrate the ability to work individually and within a multidisciplinary team, communicating and collaborating with technicians and engineers alike
  • Comply with all safety, 5S, and HazMat practices
  • Work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines
  • Demonstrate passion and excitement for solving difficult yet exciting tasks 
  • Arrive to work on time and maintain good attendance
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

This position has multiple levels of competency to be determined by performance, certifications, and supervisor discretion.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • 3-5 years experience leading automation integration projects in industrial settings
  • Proficiency in programming and configuring PLCs, HMIs, and robotic systems
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and automation integration
  • Experience leading and managing scopes of work with technical trades
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to non-technical team members
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and safety management software 
  • Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED 
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • May require occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds 
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Comfortable working in industrial environments, including exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures 
  • Willingness/ability to wear respiratory protection or other safety equipment 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

  • Wage range for this role is between $90,000 – $130,000 annually  
  • Discretionary bonus 
  • The range provided is Sedron’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.
