, ,Sedron Technologies is hiring a talented Process Controls Intern for Summer 2026 in our Bellingham location!
Founded in 2014 and headquartered in the Pacific Northwest, Sedron Technologies designs, manufactures, installs, and operates advanced water and waste upcycling technologies. With a focus on transforming the paradigm from waste processing to resource recovery, Sedron Technologies works with municipal, agricultural, and industrial customers to process their "waste" into climate-smart commodities through environmentally and financially sustainable methods.
We are seeking a motivated and technically curious Process Controls Intern to join our Operations Team. This role is ideal for someone interested in industrial automation, control systems, and process optimization. The intern will gain hands-on experience supporting operational sites, troubleshooting control software, developing new control logic, and integrating instrumentation hardware
Because we design, build, commission, and operate our technologies, we are looking for individuals who can meet the following essential functions of the position:
- Support operational sites by assisting with troubleshooting and resolving control system issues
- Write, modify, and test PLC control software using Siemens TIA Portal
- Learn and apply programming for Siemens PLCs and distributed control systems
- Integrate and configure new instrumentation hardware with existing control systems
- Assist in implementing and maintaining data acquisition pipelines usingour internal systems
- Develop dashboards and visualization tools in Grafana to support operations and performance monitoring
- Collaborate with the Operations and Engineering teams to identify and implement process control improvements
- Document control logic changes, hardware integrations, and troubleshooting procedures
- Communicate and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams of technicians, engineers, and operators
- Demonstrate initiative and problem-solving drive, bringing energy and excitement to technically challenging work
- Maintain reliable attendance, arriving on time and ready to contribute
- Take ownership of additional duties as needed to support Company goals
- Perform other related duties as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree from an ABET-accredited program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field
- 3.0 GPA or higher
- Interest in industrial process control, automation, and instrumentation
- Familiarity with PLC programming (Siemens preferred) and control system fundamentals
- Exposure to or willingness to learn Siemens TIA Portal
- Basic understanding of data acquisition, databases, and visualization tools (e.g., Telegraf, InfluxDB, Grafana)
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills for documenting and presenting findings
- Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED
- Must have effective verbal, reading, and written communication skills in the English language
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Compensation for this role is between $23 - $28 hourly
- Additional pay may apply for off-shift hours, off-site work, or special assignments
- This role may qualify for a discretionary bonus, recognizing outstanding contributions to team and company success
- This role requires less than 10% travel
- In compliance with state and local pay transparency laws, the expected compensation for this role is shared above. The range provided is Sedron’s estimate of the base compensation
- for this role and the final offer will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, and geographic location. Compensation may be adjusted within this range to reflect regional cost-of-living differences in states where Sedron is hiring.
