Sedron Technologies is hiring a talented Regional Quality & Regulatory Lab Manager (Agri-Products) in the Midwest Region of the United States!
Founded in 2014 and headquartered in the Pacific Northwest, Sedron Technologies designs, manufactures, installs, and operates advanced water and waste upcycling technologies. With a focus on transforming the paradigm from waste processing to resource recovery, Sedron Technologies works with municipal, agricultural, and industrial customers to process their "waste" into climate-smart commodities through environmentally and financially sustainable methods.
Sedron is seeking a Regional Quality & Regulatory Lab Manager to oversee multiple laboratory facilities. This role ensures quality control standards are met, manages laboratory personnel, and implements best practices in microbiology and chemical analysis. A strong background in laboratory operations and microbiology is required, with experience in the fertilizer industry considered a plus.
Because we design, build, commission, and operate our technologies, we are looking for individuals who can meet the following essential functions of the position:
- Oversee laboratory operations across multiple facilities, ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards
- Lead the setup and development of new laboratories as we build out multiple facilities across the region
- Develop, implement, and monitor quality control procedures to maintain consistency in testing and reporting
- Standardize testing methods and reporting procedures across all laboratory locations
- Conduct microbiological and chemical analyses to ensure product quality and safety
- Review and interpret lab results, identifying trends and potential quality concerns
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Stay informed of changing regulatory and labeling requirements affecting our products and communicate updates to internal teams and customers
- Oversee and perform compliance testing necessary for certification programs and Certificates of Analyses (COAs)
- Collaborate with commercial teams and customers to develop appropriate final product specifications
- Work with certification bodies and regulatory agencies to ensure ongoing compliance and certification renewals
- Implement best practices for sample handling, chain of custody, and data integrity
- Train and mentor laboratory staff, ensuring adherence to protocols and industry best practices
- Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot quality-related issues and recommend corrective actions
- Lead the development and deployment of the inline measurement and testing program, staying current on emerging inline instrumentation technologies and incorporating them into the program as necessary
- Oversee compliance with local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations
- Work closely with R&D and production teams to optimize processes and improve product quality
- Document and report on quality control findings, implementing continuous improvement strategies
- Develop and manage departmental budgets across multiple lab locations
- Monitor laboratory expenses, including supplies, equipment maintenance, and personnel costs, to ensure cost-effective operations and create process improvements without compromising quality
- Prioritize duties and responsibilities in order to fulfill objectives
- Demonstrate the ability to work individually and within a multidisciplinary team, communicating and collaborating with technicians and engineers alike
- Demonstrate passion and excitement for solving difficult yet exciting tasks
- Arrive to work on time and maintain good attendance
- Perform other related duties as assigned
This position has multiple levels of competency to be determined by performance, certifications, and supervisor discretion.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in laboratory management and quality control
- Strong background in microbiological testing and chemical analysis
- Experience in the fertilizer industry or related agricultural sectors is a plus
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple locations and teams
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Familiarity with regulatory standards such as EPA, OSHA, and other relevant guidelines
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED
- Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Ability to pass a respirator fit test
- Comfortable working in various environments, including heights, confined spaces, and varying temperatures
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Wage range for this role is between $90,000 – 130,000 annually
- Travel up to 30% to support facilities in the Midwest region
- Discretionary bonus
- The range provided is Sedron’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.
