, ,Sedron Technologies is hiring a talented Lab Engineer to work in Bellingham, WA!
Founded in 2014 and headquartered in the Pacific Northwest, Sedron designs, manufactures, installs, and operates advanced water and waste upcycling technologies. With a focus on transforming the paradigm from waste processing to resource recovery, Sedron works with agricultural, municipal, and industrial customers to process their “waste” into climate-smart commodities through environmentally and financially sustainable methods.
Sedron Technologies is looking for a detail-oriented Lab Engineer to join our innovative team in Bellingham, WA. In this role, you’ll play a key part in advancing our mission to transform waste into valuable resources by supporting research, development, and production testing in our laboratory. From preparing and analyzing samples to maintaining sophisticated equipment and ensuring safety compliance, you’ll contribute directly to the development of cutting-edge water and waste upcycling technologies that are shaping a more sustainable future.
Because we design, build, commission, and operate our technologies, we are looking for individuals who can meet the following essential functions of the position:
- Prepare, label, and test samples according to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment (e.g., rheometers, transient thermal testers, moisture analyzers etc.)
- Accurately record and analyze data, maintaining detailed and organized lab notebooks and reports
- Assist in the development and validation of testing methods and SOPs
- Follow strict safety protocols and ensure the lab complies with health and environmental regulations
- Maintain inventory of lab supplies and order materials as needed
- Calibrate instruments and conduct routine maintenance
- Support research and development projects, quality control, or production testing as required
- Analyze and interpret experimental data, ensuring accuracy and reliability
- Collaborate with engineers to support the design, prototyping, and testing of mechanical systems and components
- Prepare technical documentation, test reports, and design summaries to communicate results and recommendations
- Support the development, modeling, and refinement of mechanical components and assemblies
- Direct and/or participate in the design of custom industrial equipment including 3D CAD, drafting, engineering reviews, work order preparation, and procurement

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in a laboratory setting
- Proficient in laboratory techniques and equipment, including chromatography, spectroscopy, and titration
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language
- Effective communicator with experience presenting project updates to both technical and executive-level stakeholders.
- Must have effective verbal, reading, and written communication skills in the English language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in manufacturing environments (e.g., chemical processing, petrochemical, pulp and paper, or water treatment).
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance for chemical manufacturing (e.g., EPA, OSHA, FDA, or equivalent)
- Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing experience for process improvement
- Proficiency in NX or equivalent CAD software for 3D modeling and drafting
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and handle laboratory equipment or samples up to 30 lbs
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Wage range for this role is between $85,000 – $120,000 annually
- The range provided is Sedron’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.
- Discretionary bonus
