Sedron Technologies is hiring a talented Director of Maintenance & Reliability to work remotely within the United States!
Founded in 2014 and headquartered in the Pacific Northwest, Sedron Technologies designs, manufactures, installs, and operates advanced water and waste upcycling technologies. With a focus on transforming the paradigm from waste processing to resource recovery, Sedron Technologies works with municipal, agricultural, and industrial customers to process their "waste" into climate-smart commodities through environmentally and financially sustainable methods.
We are seeking a forward-thinking Plant Operations Maintenance & Reliability (M&R) Director to lead and execute our multi-site maintenance and reliability strategy. This critical leadership role will drive operational excellence by standardizing maintenance processes, enhancing equipment reliability, and aligning maintenance operations with the Company’s strategic goals. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader, capable of inspiring high-performance teams and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across all facilities.
Because we design, build, commission, and operate our technologies, we are looking for individuals who can meet the following essential functions of the position:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive Maintenance & Reliability (M&R) strategy across all facilities, driving operational performance and aligning with corporate objectives
- Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing M&R team spanning Reliability Engineers, Site Maintenance Managers, and technicians across multiple locations
- Standardize maintenance processes, practices, and tools across the organization to ensure consistency, efficiency, and scalability
- Implement innovative maintenance approaches, leveraging technology, predictive analytics, and data-driven insights to boost reliability and reduce downtime
- Lead proactive maintenance programs, prioritizing predictive and preventative measures to minimize unplanned downtime and extend equipment life
- Optimize maintenance schedules and asset management through data analysis, enhancing uptime, asset utilization, and operational resilience
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to integrate maintenance priorities into broader business plans
- Incorporate emerging predictive maintenance technologies to drive continuous improvement and future-proof maintenance practices
- Design and deliver training programs to upskill employees and champion best practices in maintenance and reliability disciplines
- Establish, track, and report on key KPIs such as MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), MTTR (Mean Time to Repair), and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), using insights to guide improvements
- Analyze maintenance and performance trends to identify gaps, recommend solutions, and drive operational excellence
- Develop and manage the M&R budget, ensuring smart resource allocation, cost control, and ROI-focused investments
- Prepare for future scalability, aligning people, processes, and technologies with the company's growth trajectory
- Act as the central communication point for all maintenance strategies, initiatives, and updates across facilities
- Ensure maintenance operations comply with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, promoting a proactive safety-first culture
- Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and best practices, bringing fresh, competitive insights to continuously elevate maintenance and reliability performance
- Communicate and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams of technicians, engineers, and operators
- Demonstrate initiative and problem-solving drive, bringing energy and excitement to technically challenging work
- Maintain reliable attendance, arriving on time and ready to contribute
- Take ownership of additional duties as needed to support Company goals
- This position has multiple levels of competency to be determined by performance, certifications, and supervisor discretion.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field
- 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in maintenance and reliability across multi-site operations
- Demonstrated success standardizing processes and scaling maintenance strategies across complex environments
- Deep expertise in predictive and preventative maintenance methodologies, with a strong track record of reducing downtime and maximizing asset performance
- Advanced proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and maintenance data analytics tools
- Proven ability to build, lead, and mentor high-performing, cross-functional teams
- Strong strategic mindset with a focus on operational excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and critical problem-solving skills at both the tactical and executive level
- Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED
- Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Comfortable working in various environments, including heights, confined spaces, and varying temperatures
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Compensation for this role is between $145,000 - $178,000 annually
- This role may qualify for a discretionary bonus, recognizing outstanding contributions to team and company success
- This role requires approximately 25% travel to support Sedron facilities
- While this role is classified as remote, candidates located near an existing Sedron facility are strongly preferred to support collaboration, travel efficiency, and site engagement. Sedron currently operates facilities near Bellingham, WA, Fair Oaks, IN and Green Bay, WI. We encourage all qualified applicants to apply, regardless of location, as remote arrangements will be considered for exceptional candidates.
- In compliance with state and local pay transparency laws, the expected compensation for this role is shared above. The range provided is Sedron’s estimate of the base compensation for this role and the final offer will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, and geographic location. Compensation may be adjusted within this range to reflect regional cost-of-living differences in states where Sedron is hiring.
