, ,Sedron Technologies is hiring a talented HSE Safety Manager in Sedro Woolley, WA with responsibilities in Bellingham, WA too.
Founded in 2014 and headquartered in the Pacific Northwest, Sedron Technologies designs, manufactures, installs, and operates advanced water and waste upcycling technologies. With a focus on transforming the paradigm from waste processing to resource recovery, Sedron Technologies works with municipal, agricultural, and industrial customers to process their "waste" into climate-smart commodities through environmentally and financially sustainable methods.
The Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager leads the implementation of initiatives and practices aimed at preventing serious incidents, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering employee engagement to maintain a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace. This role collaborates closely with manufacturing, operations, and engineering teams, as well as company leadership and regulatory agencies. The HSE Manager is also responsible for building successful partnerships to support the implementation of EHS programs and procedures.
This role supports manufacturing in both Sedro-Woolley and Bellingham WA.
Because we design, build, commission, and operate our technologies, we are looking for individuals who can meet the following essential functions of the position:
- Collaborate with leadership in the development and implementation of safety and environmental frameworks, including policies, programs, training, risk assessments, and other program elements across multiple manufacturing and industrial locations
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, tradespeople, and leadership staff, to ensure alignment and successful implementation of HSE initiatives
- Conduct regular facility audits and risk assessments. Assist leadership in development and timely closure of corrective actions
- Coach and mentor manufacturing leaders to effectively complete their EHS responsibilities
- Facilitate incident investigations, root cause analysis, and ensure learnings are shared, with a focus on Serious Incident and Fatality (SIF) prevention
- Coordinate development of an EHS training matrix, selection of required topics, and effective delivery of training to build safety skills, knowledge, and compliance (ex. hazcom, LOTO, PPE, confined space entry, cranes and lifting, forklift, etc.)
- Promote a strong organizational culture which includes capacity for safe operation
- Monitor environmental compliance across air, water and waste media. Assist with environmental data gathering, permit compliance, and reporting.
- Serve as the point of contact for regulatory inspections and manage compliance activity.
- Analyze safety metrics to identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Develop and oversee emergency preparedness and response plans
- Support workers’ compensation case management and return-to-work programs in collaboration with HR and operating department leadership
- Manage HSE documentation and ensure accurate recordkeeping
- Arrive to work on time and maintain good attendance
- Perform other related duties as assigned
This position has multiple levels of competency to be determined by performance, certifications, and manager discretion.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Industrial/Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related discipline
- 5+ years of experience in the health and safety field, demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility
- Knowledge and experience with current safety practices, WA L&I, OSHA regulations, and safety system standards applicable to an industrial environment.
- Proficiency with Office 365 applications (Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote)
- Strong ability to effectively communicate environmental, health, and safety concepts, plans, and technical information.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and safety management software
- Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with EHS data management software or systems such as Benchmark/Gensuite, EHS Insight, Enablon, or other similar tools
- Background in programs aimed at improving Human and Organizational Performance (HOP)
- Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or Graduate Safety Professional (GSP)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to travel to various company sites as needed, approximately 15%
- May require occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during site inspections
- Comfortable working in industrial environments, including exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures
- Willingness/ability to wear respiratory protection or other safety equipment
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Compensation range for this role is between $95,000 to $120,000 annually
- The range provided is Sedron’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.
