Sedron Technologies is hiring a talented Electrical Engineer 

Founded in 2014 and headquartered in the Pacific Northwest, Sedron Technologies designs, manufactures, installs, and operates advanced water and waste upcycling technologies. With a focus on transforming the paradigm from waste processing to resource recovery, Sedron Technologies works with municipal, agricultural, and industrial customers to process their "waste" into climate-smart commodities through environmentally and financially sustainable methods. 

 

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who aims to engineer industrial equipment consisting of 480VAC/3Phase power distribution systems, industrial control panels, PLC’s, sensors, and actuators. This position takes responsibility for all electrical engineering and specifications of apparatuses installed on industrial machinery and industrial sites, from design through factory and site commissioning. We are looking for an experienced person who is passionate about electrical engineering and enjoys the rewards of building highly automated electromechanical equipment and industrial sites. 

 

We are looking for individuals who can meet the following essential functions of the position:    

  • Participate in the design, development, and integration of simple and complex control systems for electrical, mechanical, and fluid power systems for industrial process control systems. 
  • Work at the system level (P&ID’s) and component level (sensor/actuators/motors) for industrial control systems 
  • Responsible for selection, development of specifications, procurement of circuit protection, and safe installation of 480VAC/3Phase for process control systems 
  • Responsible for selection, developing specifications, and procurement of electrical equipment for industrial process control systems (PLC components, sensors, control valve actuators, etc.) 
  • Responsible for selection, developing specifications and procurement of motor controls (single and multi-phase Motor Starters, Soft Starters, and VFD’s) 
  • Creates construction documents targeting industrial control panel manufacturers and electrical contractors 
  • Responsible for compliance with UL508A for Industrial Control Panels, NFPA 79 (Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery), and NEC (National Electrical Code, NFPA 70) for on-site electrical installation 
  • Prioritize duties and responsibilities in order to fulfill objectives 
  • Demonstrate the ability to work individually and within a multidisciplinary team, communicating and collaborating with technicians and engineers alike 
  • Comply with all safety, 5S, and HazMat practices 
  • Work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines 
  • Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors 
  • Demonstrate passion and excitement for solving difficult yet exciting tasks 
  • Arrive to work on time and maintain good attendance 
  • Maintain good organization skills 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned  
  • This position has multiple levels of competency to be determined by performance, certifications, and supervisor discretion.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university with in-person attendance  
  • Five or more years’ industry experience designing, developing, and integrating control and automation systems preferred 
  • Experience with PLC's, various control systems, motor controls and VFDs 
  • Strong proficiency in troubleshooting and problem solving of various electrical and control systems 
  • Ideal candidate has experience using the following software packages; Siemens TIA Portal, Eplan, SKM Analysis  
  • Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED 
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language 

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Compensation range for this role is between $80,000 - $130,000 annually
  • Discretionary bonus 
  • The range provided is Sedron’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.
